LEAGUE: Wednesday’s Men's League at Mississippi Dunes Golf Links

LEAGUE MEETING: April 21st, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. It is not mandatory to attend, but strongly encouraged. We will cover league format and address your questions and concerns. This will also be a good time for you to get the names and numbers of others in the league.
LEAGUE FORMAT: The league is designed to add a touch of competition to your round of golf. All players of all abilities are welcome to play. Handicaps will be established using our GHIN system at Mississippi Dunes Golf Links. Players will earn points for participation and finishing place during each event. These points get accumulated during the year and will be used to determine Player of the Year honors. To qualify for the end of the year tournament, an individual must compete in 10 weeks OR play in all 4 monthly 18-hole events.
SCORING: Scoring will be based on weekly 9-hole events (front nine only), 4 18-hole events, and an end of the year 18-hole event. The 18-hole events are not mandatory. If you can only play 9 holes on the day of the 18-hole events, your front 9 score will be multiplied by 2 and 4 strokes will be added to configure your 18-hole score. The Players of the Year must compete in the End of the Year Tournament.
Weekly 9-Hole Event Point Breakdown (Net/Gross):
Winner: 5 points
2nd: 3 points
3rd: 2 points
4th – last: 1 point
Monthly 18-Hole Event (June 16th, July 14th, August 18th, September 15th)
Winner: 15 points
2nd: 9 points
3rd: 6 points
4th - last: 5 points
End of the Year Tournament:
Winner: 60 points
2nd: 40 points
3rd: 20 points
4th-10th: 10 points
LEAGUE FEE: You will be asked to pay $50 to cover the cost of website management, your GHIN handicap, and end of the year prizes. This fee will be reduced to $20 if you already have a GHIN handicap. Optional: $10 each week to participate in the weekly games.
*If you are not a member of Mississippi Dunes, you will be required to pay a greens fee each round you play. To help offset the cost, we offer our popular $299 Golf Card and have memberships starting at $425.
WEBSITE INFORMATION: We will be using www.netgolfleague.com to manage the league. It will allow us to use multiple scoring systems, do event scheduling, track individual statistics, and post information about our league on a message board. Once you sign-up to participate in the league, you will receive a e-mail from www.netgolfleague.com asking you to create a username and password. With the username and password, you will be able to log in.

DAY OF THE WEEK: League day will be Wednesday. The first league event will take place May 5th and will run 17 weeks until September 1st.
MONTHLY 18-HOLE EVENTS: Though you are encouraged to play 18 holes throughout the year, the league this year will be a 9-hole league. Four 18-hole events will be scheduled for the 2010 league season. These events will be worth more points than the 9-hole events and will be crucial in determining Player of the Year awards. The 18-hole events will take place on June 16th, July 14th, August 18th, and September 15th.
END OF THE YEAR TOURNAMENT: The end of the year tournament will be held on September 1st, 2010. The Players of the Year will be determined by cumulative point total. A winner will be declared in a gross division/net division. The net division will be using the handicap determined by GHIN.
*If the same person is ahead in both divisions, he/she will be declared winner in the gross division and the person with the second most points in the net division will be declared the winner in the net division.
TEE TIMES: League tee times will begin at 1:00 p.m. each Wednesday. We encourage those golfers who wish to play 18-holes to begin at 1:00 p.m. Only the front 9 score will count as your weekly score unless an 18-hole event is scheduled for that day. If an 18-hole event is scheduled for that day and you cannot play 18 holes, your front nine score will be multiplied by 2 and 4 additional strokes will be added. If you are looking at only playing 9-holes each week, we strongly encourage you to start at 3:00 p.m. Playing before 1:00 p.m. is allowed for those who would not be able to make the league tee times, but you must play with someone else who is in the league to verify your score. Therefore, you will be able to play with whomever and whenever you want as long as one person in your group is in the league. However, we strongly encourage you to play after 1:00 p.m. each Wednesday so you can play with new and old friends enrolled in the league.
SCORECARDS: To register a round each week, you must turn in your scorecard to the Pro Shop no later than 12:00 p.m. the Thursday after each Wednesday league day for your score to be official.

Friday Night Couples 9-Hole League

REGISTRATION: Those interested in playing in the Friday Night Couples League must enroll online at www.mississippidunes.com under Golf Leagues.
THE LEAGUE INCLUDES: Golf, cart, 2 drinks, dinner, and prizes each week.
LEAGUE FEES:
$50 One-Time League Fee
Members: $30 per couple per week
Non-Members: $50 per couple per week
LEAGUE MEETING: May 28th, 2010 after the first couples league event. It is not mandatory to attend this meeting, but it is strongly encouraged. We will cover league format and address your questions and concerns. This will also be a good time to get the names and numbers of other couples in the league.
DAY OF THE WEEK: Every other Friday starting at 6:15 p.m. Registration will take place at 6:00 p.m. and there will be a 6:15 p.m. shotgun start.
SCHEDULE: The Couples League will be held every other Friday beginning on May 28th at 6:15 p.m. Dates will be May 28th, June 11th, June 25th, July 9th, July 23rd, July 30th, August 20th, and September 17th. To compete each week, it is required that you sign up for the event at least 4 days prior to the event.
LEAGUE FORMAT: We are happy to introduce our NEW Friday Night Couples League. The league will be what you make it. Scores will be kept but the league is intended to be fun and a way for you to meet new people. The format will change each week and allow you to play with those you know and those you don't know. Golfers of all abilities are welcome. Remember this is a FUN league.
May 28th- 4 Person Scramble (You pick your foursome)
June 11th- 2 Person Scramble (Your own couple)
June 25th- 4 Person Scramble (You pick your foursome)
July 9th- Males vs Females Scramble
July 23rd- 4 Person Alternate Shot (Your own couple)
August 13th - 4 Person Scramble (You pick your foursome)
August 27th- 4 Person Scramble (You pick your foursome)
September 10th- 4 Person Mixed Scramble
SCORING: Each week you participate your "couple" will receive one point for participating. The winner of the week will receive two points. If the team is a mix of two couples, each original couple will receive two points.
TIEBREAKER: If there is a tie at the end of the season, the lady golfer of each team will get one shot on #9 from the gold tees and the closest to the pin wins.
